Old school RuneScape isn't the same game as old RuneScape.
That's fine by me. agility training I joined for the nostalgia, but I got hooked on what the game is now. Games need to change a bit to stay healthy, and that's okay.
It's especially important when we've been playing for 8+years. You can't expect a time capsule to sit around waiting for your monthly dose of nostalgia (not you, but that's what some people talk about).
2006-2011, 2013-2022
That's a lotta time for me lol
Imagine if they released real 07 servers that have zero updates. Who thinks you'd still want to play?
Considering that's how OSRS started, we already know the answer. Near the end of the first year, the player base was so low that they didn't even bother to add regular updates.
I would! Given that I could use RL at the very least. Content-wise, it would be a great idea.
But I have a problem. I also did 99 Rc with nats.
Yes
If they released a few legacy servers that are just vanilla 2007/start of OSRS, they'd see play. Hiscores nerds would have something new to grind, and purist PKers that want to return to the Gmaul/DDS days with Barrows gear being BiS would have it. It might be easier to PK on such a server. There would be a bit of a PvM scene too, as the rarest items in-game like the Dragon full helm and Dragonfire shield would see their fair share of use. DKs and Barrows would be the best money in-game. KBD and KQ would be great money. It would be a fascinating server. I would likely play it just for the older content.
Yep.
nope
I'm all for 2013 osrscape. However, every time it is suggested here, the posts get downvoted until oblivion. EDIT: I have proved my point
It might be possible if they had a legacy account world like f2p, but I don't see that happening.
It would be fun if there were seasonal classic leagues every 5 years.
I started playing when I was unable to run and had to go to bed.
They did that already. It was the original iteration of osrs.
It was almost dead by the time they added content.
What I like is that a lot of the early game is still pretty similar to old RuneScape. They added quests and bosses at lower levels, and also added new areas like Zeah. But if you made an account and just wanted to do the content that you remembered doing as a f2p level 35 noon it's still there!
Yes.
This doesn't necessarily mean that all change is good.
Yes, it's true. Let's not have an EOC repetition lol. But I have to admit, I feel that the developers are so involved, it would seem strange for them not to implement something so universally resented at this point.
