How To Reset Player Data On Your Minecraft Server

There is a file for each player which has connected to your server which contains a bunch of information such as their inventory data and their location. Sometimes when things go wrong on the server, you're required to delete a player's data file to resolve the issue. After deleting their player data file, they would essentially connect as if they were a new player.

Follow these steps to successfully reset individual player data on your server:

To prevent any corruption, make sure your server is offline before you begin any tutorial that involves manipulating server files.

1. First, we need the UUID for the player. Head over to https://namemc.com/ and input the Minecraft Name of the player you wish to reset the data.

(Universally Unique Identifier, or UUID, is a unique id given to each player when they join a server to make it easy for referencing the player, item storage and accessing information regarding the player)

1. After you have identified your player, a user identifier (UUID) will be displayed under the player's name. Similary to what's shown in the image below. Notepad/sticky note: Write down the UUID to refer to later.

2. Minecraft Servers Now head over to your ServerMiner Control Panel and click on File Manager. If you are familiar in FTPs and want to repeat the steps, FileZilla can also be used.

3. Enter the folder containing the current world you have loaded onto your server. If you are unsure of which world you are using you can look at the Minecraft Worlds tab of your ServerMiner control panel to find out.

4. Navigate to the playerdata folder and enter it, this is where all the data (Inventory/Positions) of the players who join your server are stored.

5. If there aren’t enough files, you can use the shortcut Ctrl+F to search for the player UUID. Refer to the UUID you have written down to find it. Alternately, you can use Ctrl+F to search the UUID. Once you found it, click the checkbox and hit the Delete button.

Congratulations! Congratulations! You can now open your server and allow that player to join it! The player will spawn in your world with no inventory.
