Word had been passed around quickly when the new stock came in, weapons of war and destruction pawned off for simple things like diamonds. Purchases were made by proxy weapons kept locked away, books used in their stead. The marketplace had opened quickly when the smp started. But markets like this had existed long before.
Winter liked the forests. Winter liked pretty biomes, cookies and cakes, flowers. Winter liked giving gifts to those around them, showing that they cared.
But she Loved the adrenaline of something new.
She'd heard whispers, asking for someone strong, someone sturdier than the others. She'd heard the whispers and she'd answered. Nothing in her home forest had prepared them for this- Armorless at spawn for a live arms demo.
Winter recognized some of the people around them. Neighbors they'd delivered flowers to, customers at the bakery. They stood now with nervous hands or gleeful smiles, awaiting the start of the action.
It hurt.
Rate the pain on a scale, listen to the ooohs and aaahs of the crowd, eat some food, go at it again. Nobody but them had ever experienced this before.
In that moment, Winter felt alive.
