Why run multiple Minecraft servers on a single IP?
It's been a growing trend to see customers requesting an IP for each Minecraft server they run. This is due to the fact that each server should be run on the default port (25565), so players don't have to wonder how to access it. This is a great feature for players who are new to the game and it makes it easy for them to use. minecraftservers.club However, it can also increase operational costs.
IP Space - As there are very few IP blocks left, the cost of one IP will rise 2 to 5 times as soon as supply runs out and demand grows. DDoS Protection- Protection is typically sold per-IP as this is the way most companies assess "risk", and "usage" for their system. So, the more IPs you protect, the more vulnerable the server becomes. A single IP protected with multiple servers will result in significant cost savings. The good news is that Minecraft (since version 1.3.1) now supports SRV records, eliminating the port woes for players. You can set up multiple Minecraft servers on 1 IP, running on different ports, and set up a SRV record to automatically direct a player to the right port.

Name: The domain name where this record is valid. TTL: standard DNS time-to-live field. Class: Standard DNS class field (this is always IN). Priority: The priority of the target host. A lower value is more preferred. Weight: A relative weight of records with the same priority. port: the TCP/UDP port where the Minecraft server is hosted on. target: The hostname of the machine providing the service.
If your DNS provider asks for service, put in _minecraft and if it asks for proto or protocol, put in _tcp.
