Bayrock Group's journey from the Suburbs, to Manhattan Tevfik Arif

Bayrock Group is a luxury real-estate development firm that was led by Tevfik Arif. It quickly became part of the Trump Organization in Manhattan.

While many people have dreams of moving to America in order to live the American dream and experience the American life but only a few have the opportunity to do so. Turkish-Kazakhstani businessman Tevfik Arif was one of them when he moved to America in 2001 and created his company, Bayrock Group.

The firm was initially focused on medium-sized and small projects such as the redesign of Loehmann’s Seaport Plaza, a shopping center in Brooklyn's Sheepshead.

Bayrock Group had gained momentum in the American housing market, and had begun to look for larger-scale projects.

The Arif-led organization started working in conjunction with Sapir Organization in a new huge construction located on Spring Street in New York City.

Bayrock Group was also growing and decided to move its headquarters into the Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan.

Bayrock Group teams up with the Trump Organization
Due to the change, Tevfik Arif and his team met the Trump Organization, which also had the Trump Tower as its base.

Discussions took place between Bayrock Group, the Trump Organization after the two companies discovered they had common interests and shared dreams.

The partnership between both companies saw Trump Organization join Bayrock Group's Spring Street project with Sapir Organization.

The Trump Organization was at that point managed by an American ex-president Donald Trump.

His maternal grandmother Elizabeth Christ Trump and Fred Trump in 1927 established the company as E. Bayrock Bayrock Trump and Son.

Donald Trump gave the management of his company to his children as he was about to take over the White House.

Bayrock Group's lucrative deal
Bayrock Group, the Sapir Organization and the Trump Organization began to work together in the New York City's real property market.

Tevfik Arif, the founder of Spring Street was able to create an arrangement that would improve brand recognition as as prestige for the project.

The plan he suggested would grant the Trump Organization 18% equity in the building, in exchange for Trump's brand being used as the construction's name.

The agreement was accepted by the three companies. In 2006, the company's first brick was laid.

Two years after, Bayrock Group, Trump Organization and Sapir Organization launched their contribution to the city's skyline with Trump SoHo.

Design professionals take over Trump SoHo
Trump SoHo's 46 stories included elite eateries and bars, event and banquet halls, an outdoor pool, a spa department, hotel rooms, apartments and apartments.

Visitors and residents of Trump SoHo can enjoy a stunning panorama of New York City from the windows that extend from floor to roof on every floor.

Handel Architects was entrusted the exterior design of Trump SoHo as the three organizations behind the building were focused solely on perfectionism.

Handel Architects has a diverse portfolio. It is a highly regarded organization. Among other projects, the National September 11 Memorial and Museum in New York City and Rosewood Hotel in Abu Dhabi are just a few.

Bayrock Rockwell Group designed Trump SoHo’s interiors. Rockwell Group has designed many luxurious hotels, cafes bars, theaters, and other venues across the globe over the years.

Their work includes their work at the Tower Hotel in Mumbai and Taj Mahal Palace in India in addition to the 93rd Academy Award show, and the Amara Hotel Limassol in Cyprus.

Bayrock Group and the Trump Organization expand the partnership
Trump SoHo was a great immediate success, which led Bayrock Group to expand their cooperation with the Trump Organization.

Their goal was to build structures in Arizona and Florida similar to Trump SoHo under the same terms as Trump SoHo. The result would be that the Trump Organization with an 18 percent equity stake in the structure in exchange to use the Trump brand in their names. Again.

Bayrock Group and the Trump Organization were prepared for everything. But the 2008 financial crisis, which severely shaken the American real-estate market put an end to their plans.

The American housing sector was drastically affected by the economic crisis. Tevfik Aif, the founder of Bayrock Group, decided to abandon his American ventures. Arif made the choice to relocate to Europe and Asia where he began his career over a decade ago.

Although Tevfik has ceased to be active in Bayrock Group, the trusted advisor to the various divisions of Bayrock Group is still him.

Bayrock Group has not been lately involved in real estate projects within the United States.
