I suppose that in such cases you need to be more knowledgeable about things and portforwanding.
The second option would be to just rent a minecraft server. minecraft servers are my life I have one myself for myself and 8 other friends. It costs only 5EUR per month. I can also stop vanilla for a bit and play an adventure map.

I'm on Mac. I wanted to create the server.properties directory to change the rules specified in the Map Description. After I had completed the fourth line, I noticed that nothing had changed. I don’t know where to find my server.properties.txt file. I don’t know where to find the banned.ips.txt & banned-players.txt directories.

Did you restart the server and stop it again? These should automatically create them...

If you need to know how to make a server, I suggest what Watchig said. He said to rent a server, hypixel's servers are rented. I recommend mcprohosting. There are many dangers associated with hosting a server in your home. 1 you can be DDoS'd. I recommend using good hosts such as McProhosting to prevent DDoS attacks. And there very cheap, so instead of burning out your computer battery, just use mcprohosting

First one is your LAN IP. LAN IPs always start with 192.168. The second one is likely hamachi (which uses IPs beginning with 25. ).

Ah, but I'm already supporting my build team and do not need to incur additional mounting costs. Also, I am trying setup a LAN.

The Barl-LAN servers are only accessible over your network. Anyone on your network can connect with you, as can anyone using your wifi. For a more in-depth guide look here.
Watchig that is a great deal. Keep in mind, however, that one player usually consumes around 75-130 megabytes.

BungeeCord, a program that connects multiple people through portals and the like, is required. BungeeCord is not a plugin. It's also very expensive. You can only host one server per computer, unless you have a multihomed machine. So servers like hypixels are hosted by McProhosting.

My friend, be patient. Just download the actual server.jar file from the mojang website. Once you have copied your map, you can now use it. Follow the tutorial, but use the map that you have on your old server.
