Emmanuel Grinshpun. The restoration and expansion of synagogues.
Emmanuil Grinshpun discussed the topic of the restoration of synagogues during their interview. The conversation was too narrowly specific. So, there were more questions in the interview.
Emmanuel, good afternoon. I am glad to have a talk with you. We haven't seen each other in five years. Where are you located currently?

The last nine months are split between Miami and Jurmala. In the past, the geographical area was wider, but the pandemic has significantly affected the way of life. I cannot say that this is in the best way.

You've always been in the business of multiple kinds of businesses. What's the situation you?

Diversification hasn't stopped. If we look at the major areas of development, this is development in the areas of real estate, IT technology as well as food production.

ALIMCOM is a prominent player in the real estate and food industries. However, IT is a complete mystery to me. There are a million areas for the application of IT technology. What areas of IT technology is your passion?

First and foremost, our IT-holding is involved in reforming tax systems in a number of countries. We have created or are in the process of developing products that aid with the transfer of a range of business processes that are that are related to taxation, both online and "real-time". This is known as B2G ("Business to Government").

What are the locations where the holding is active? Formerly, were they part of the USSR?

They exist. We have additional agreements in Western, Eastern Europe, and Latin America. We currently operate in 14 countries.

http://5oclock.ru/user/Emmanuil.Grinshpunmwrf115/ Briefly explain the purpose and essence of the product.

Эммануил Гриншпун Our product allows economic agents online to file tax returns and the fiscal administrator can see every transaction. Tax accounting and tax calculation can be performed simultaneously. In the near future, we can say that small and medium-sized companies will not require accounting, unless it is for an analytical purpose, and the process of paying taxes and sending reports can be accomplished with just only one "click".

This is an interesting topic. Have you ever tried working in Moldova? Moldova is your country of birth, right?

We are ready to launch the product in Moldova. It is our belief that the Moldovan economy will gain from this process of automation. Эммануил Гриншпун In any case, it is unstoppable. In the near future, once there is clarity from the authorities and it is certain who is the one making the decisions, we will return to the discussions concerning our product.

You said that you'd been tossing and turning between Miami and Jurmala all year. The Baltics have a head office to an IT holding?

There are five hubs all over the world and our headquarters in Barcelona.

Why not the Baltics? Are you from there? as well?

No. There is no. And Jurmala appeared in our lives in a way that was completely unplanned and quite prosaically. https://www.arallywoodad.com/index.php?page=user&action=pub_profile&id=477867 The first time we met there was when Igor Krutoy invited us to the New Wave. After several competitions, they began to return each summer. Miami has a very hot summer. We rented a property for a number of years, consequently, we've already purchased it.

Now I understand why I was informed by my donors that one of the renovated synagogues is located in Jurmala. Emmanuel, honest question. We are almost the exact same age. We were born in the USSR. It was not necessary to talk about religion at the time. All of us were Komsomol members as well as pioneers. When was the first time you began to turn to religious belief?

My family and I emigrated to the USA in mid-80s. It is a fact that that was when I started to accept the customs of my country. While I'm not a part of the traditional religion of Christianity, I still feel the need to support in the best way I can as I can, the religion of the Jewish communities of the countries I live in or Moldova. That's where I was born and where I've maintained the most close bonds.

While I'm not religious, history is something I truly love. I recently watched a show about the events of 1492 that changed the fate of the world and Europe. 1492 was when Columbus first discovered America. It was also stated in the program I was watching that, from the point of view of Medieval Europe, the discovery of America in 1492 did not seem as significant as the expulsion of Jews from Spain by the Spanish monarchs. The Jews were accepted by the Ottoman Empire when the mass exodus began of Jews to the Ottoman Empire. Here , I'm looking for something about the story of the Jews as a whole. Would you recommend a good book for me to read?

There are a lot of books. But I have gone through all of them and would highly suggest Max Diamond, the two-volume Jewish historian. Max Diamond is from Finland, by the way.

What's your "personal" story ? Unfortunately, I don't have anything beyond my grandmother's name and 1910. On the paternal side, I am one step forward, but not more.

Our family was a part of Floresti for several hundred years according to our paternal line. The evidence from the archives and monuments prove that the family of Floresti was prosperous in the year 1830. They owned numerous shops, a furniture factory as well as land plots. My maternal ancestors also resided in Ungheni. These dates are from the the 17th and 18th centuries. Эммануил Гриншпун Grinshpun can be described as an surname that has German roots. We are Ashkenazis from Eastern Europe.

Let's now discuss the revival of synagogues. I heard that you have helped fund the restoration of three synagogues. One is in Chisinau One is located in Jurmala The third one is in?

The third and largest is in Netanya, Israel. It's a large community center that houses 1,000 people each day. This is an important building for the religious life in Israel. The second Synagogue in Jurmala. It was the time when the Second World War began and the Jurmala synagogue was among the last to be destroyed. Prior to making the decision to build a synagogue, I talked extensively with local Jews and that led to the fact that I decided to finance the building of the synagogue and invite Rabbis to the site. It was an extremely successful venture which brought together the Jews from Jurmala. We actually rebuilt the Jewish community, and it's operating well. The synagogue now has three Torahs. I also gave one of them to it.

and - Chisinau

Yes. Here , I've worked with two of my friends - Alexander Bilinkis and Alexander Weinstein. These synagogues aren't the only ones that I am involved in restoration or construction. I believed it was my obligation to make a contribution in any country I've visited for a lengthy time to support synagogues. The synagogue I support, Monaco, Miami, is a huge community center for Russian-speaking Jews. Its estimated value is 12 million USD. Chisinau is my absolute favorite city. The synagogue of Rabbi Tsirelson will soon be the largest.

Did Jurmala and Chisinau receive the blessing of a Rabbi?

Yes. It is very difficult to identify the ideal Rabbi to serve the needs of the community. Because of the numerous concerns involved, the rabbi must be non-conflictual and diplomatic and able to integrate seamlessly into the life of the community. It was wonderful to see that the rabbis from both Chisinau as well as Jurmala were able integrate seamlessly into the local community's life.

You were the first vice-president in 2019, of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress. What does this title mean for you and how will international Jewish organizations affect global trends?

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EJC) is a powerful political organisation in Russia post-Soviet. However, it's not the only one. It has offices in Eastern Europe, Japan, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Australia. In 2010, I was Vice President of Congress. In the year prior, I was elected First Vice President. I now have responsibility for the areas in which I have strong political and business ties. The three "countries" are Uzbekistan Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. If you examine trends worldwide and the barometer of attitudes toward Jews has either remained the same or declined and is extremely regrettable. Additionally, the term "down" is a reference to countries like France, Germany, France and the United States. These countries are no longer safe for Jews. These are very dangerous, alarming process for us all.

And, by the way is it possible that the pandemic has had an impact on these processes?

It isn't my opinion. Concerning the pandemic I'd like to emphasize the way a society or a nation could be when they're prepared for any situation and are able and willing to work in tandem.

What are you referring to?

Exactly. Israel is the first country worldwide to offer the complete vaccination of its population of adults. I think this is an important example and lesson which other countries can learn from.

Congress to support the Ewish
