The Sacred Heart Parish was established in 1861. Five priests served the parish in succession from 1850 to 1910. In April of that year, the Bishop appointed Reverend Joseph D. Quinn as its pastor. Father Quinn would serve the church for the next twenty-seven years. In 1911, he purchased the property on Main Street and converted a barn into a church. The church's first Mass was held there in 1912. The barn church burned down on April 14, 1913, but was soon rebuilt.
The church was organized in 1886, with the first pastor being Fr. Brown. In 1897, a rectory was built for the congregation. The rectory has been designated as a historical structure. In 1906, a school was built. However, it closed down in the 1960s and was replaced with an elementary school. In the early 1950s, a fire destroyed the prior church, so the current church was built.

The Sacred Heart Church was organized in 1886 and was served by Fr. Brown until 1896. The rectory was built in the heart of the village, and in 1908, a school was built. This school closed down in the 1970s, and the present church was built in 1958. The original church burned down, and the rectory is a historic structure. During the 1950s, the current building was built.
