Are you planning a lengthy trip away from home? You should make sure to have the necessary digital devices you require before the WiFi stops working.
Let me tell you the story of my last Arctic cruise. It sounded great, National Geographic trip thru the ice and back with polar bears, and many other species. There was all kinds of ice and there would be snow everywhere. Man-made machinery would battle the elements to break through the frozen north. It sounded fantastic like a grand fight with the weather and north.


I was advised to carry the maximum amount of technology I could fit in my suitcases. To extend my working space I brought my laptop. I was informed that electricity was not an issue. I was still not sure what was going to occur. I didn't know that, just two days into my 14-day adventure I would lose my Internet connection and go without for 10 days. It was quite a shock for me when it was happening. Any trip, no matter how challenging or remote, cause me to be disconnected from the technological world. Not only have I got unfinished work to handle over the next week but I also didn't prepare myself for the time off.

Nowadays, nobody cares that they're forced to go offline. Internet is everywhere. If your home connection is slow at times and you are unable to connect, try to locate the nearest McDonalds nearby and connect to their free WiFi. You can bring your laptop to the nearest Starbucks and use their WiFi free connection to access the Internet whenever you want. In the north, there's no café or restaurant which can help you. You are a long way away from the nearest electricity source. There isn't any free Internet available. There are two choices: switch off or utilize satellite access.

I cannot afford the cost of a satellite phone. It's expensive and especially for Internet access. The next time I'll have an extensive audio and video collection before I set out into the world of unknown. Last time , I only had 2 songs. The songs were downloaded earlier in the day, so all I had to listen to was three jazz tracks and one song I couldn't remember what it was called. y2mate mp3 download That's all. 4 songs in 2 weeks of nothingness. I would have prepared if I had known this would happen. I would have packed my laptop full of TV shows, movies and music videos. I could spend long hours listening to my most-loved podcasts. It's easy to download the podcasts, convert them into MP3 and save them on my computer. Then I can just relax in my bed and enjoy whatever music I would like to hear at home, but don't have the time for. This was my"golden hour, two weeks of gold. It turned out to have been 2 weeks of looking at ceilings and running from passengers to be there every time they made a sound.

Literally and metaphorically In both ways, the journey was empty. Never have I ever been so bored. The ice was way too thick. In the knowledge that it might cause issues and causing problems, the boat needed to return to civilization. It wasn't a shock however it meant that endless hours of unproductive time could have been used to listen to podcasts or watch videos for DIY home repair, as well being able to listen to music. Next time, I will convert YouTube videos into MP4 or mp3 on a laptop. Then, I can take my favourite tunes with me and listen to them on my laptop. Music can boost your mood, so don't be discouraged. Hulu and Netflix apps can download shows and movies offline. It is also possible to bring them with you on your long arctic trek. Just make sure don't waste on boredom. Have fun!
