After the blinds have been placed, the dealer will begin to deal the hole cards one by one to each player. Like in any poker variants, players are not allowed to have five cards. They have two cards. This makes it necessary to combine the community cards and hole cards.

The dealer starts from his or she left side and deals 3 cards one by one to each player. He deals 2 cards down and 1 card up. The 2 down cards are also called pocket or hole cards.

The dealer proceeds to "burn" the last card on the table and then deals the final river card to all players.
