How To Create A Minecraft Server Icon

It's not easy to create server icons. You need to consider design requirements, file sizes limits, and restrictions that may be constrictive to your creative process.



We're sharing all the technical aspects, design tips, and upload requirements you need to make a Minecraft server icon with ease without comprising creativity. To prepare for the tutorial, you will need a browser and a reliable device to access an online editor.

Step One: Find an Image for Your Minecraft Server Icon



Let's begin the tutorial by finding an image for the Minecraft server icon. A few ideas to consider are initials representing the server name, custom logos to establish a unique identity, creative symbols, and game characters. Pinterest and Google allow you to search for existing server icons. Here are some examples.



Step Two: Upload Image to the PNG Maker



Open your browser and visit the PNG Maker by Kapwing to begin creating your Minecraft server icon. The minimum size for server icons is 64x64 pixels. This free tool supports both of these requirements. Feel free to use the PNG Maker on any device, like a mobile phone, tablet, or computer.



You have several options to open the editor from this point. You can tap or click the get started button to begin with a blank canvas, upload a file from the file browser, or you can paste an image link. The second option is ideal if you already have an image saved on your device.



If you need help finding the perfect image, select the get started button, then use the Plugins tool to browse images from Pixabay and Pexels. Pixabay also offers vectors and illustrations by talented creators. These are perfect for server icons. To find results, simply type a description in the search bar and then tap or click to search. Here's an example of what you might find using the Pixabay plugin.



Step Three: Edit Minecraft Server Icon



To resize the canvas to the optimal dimensions for a server icon, click Custom under Output Size on the right side of the Studio and type 64 in each space. Then, click Done to save the changes.



To open the Remove Background Tool, click or tap the eraser. This will convert the image to a PNG file and make it transparent. You can adjust your eraser size or use magic wand tools to quickly select and isolate background from icon. You can zoom in or out to make precise edits.



If your image has already been transparent and you need to remove it from the canvas' background color, click the transparent icon in Background Color.



After completing the design specifications, we can start customizing our server icon. You can browse shapes and Emojis using the Elements tool. The image search tool allows you to find borders, graphics, overlays, and graphics. servers Drag the ends of the element to adjust its size and position it on the canvas.



If you prefer a different appearance, you can use the adjust tool. Select the image, click Adjust, then drag the circle from left to right to decrease or increase the intensity of a setting. You can also click Filters to choose from 17 options. To view a preview, click on a filter.

Step Four: Export and Upload to Minecraft Server



To start processing the project, first review your icon. Next, click the export image button at he top of the PNG maker.



Once it's done processing, change the file's name to server-icon. This file name is required to upload the icon to your Minecraft server, then click Download to save it to your device. You can sign in with an email address to remove the watermark for free and you'll have a free workspace to store and edit content for up to two days.



Open your server files and drag and drop the file from your desktop or download folder into the root directory of your Minecraft server. Launch and refresh your Minecraft server and your new icon should appear for all to view!
