GitHub - Timvisee/lazymc: Put Your Minecraft Server To Rest When Idle

Some Minecraft servers (especially modded) use an insane amount of resources when nobody is playing. lazymc helps by stopping your server when idle, until a player connects again.

lazymc functions as proxy between clients and the server. It handles all incoming status connections up to the server being started, and then transparently relays/proxies any rest. All this without their knowledge.

- Very lightweight, low-profile, and efficient (3KB RAM). – Supports Minecraft Java Edition 1.7+, supports modded servers (e.g. Forge, FTB - Configure joining client occupations: - Hold, Kick: hold clients when server is starting, relay when ready without them being aware - Forward, forward clients to another IP once server starts Lobby, keep client in emulated servers with lobby world, teleport when ready (experimental*).

- Linux, macOS or Windows - Minecraft Java Edition 1.6+ - On Windows: RCON (automatically managed)

Note: The lazymc binary must be run from the system. You won't be allowed to set up this if you're using a Minecraft-based shared hosting provider with an individual dashboard.

Usage

These instructions are for Linux and macOS. You can find Windows instructions here.

Download the most recent release page to get the correct binary for your system.

Place the binary into your Minecraft server directory. You can rename it if needed. Open a terminal. Go to the directory and verify that you can invoke it.

Once lazymc is up, make sure to change to your server directory. Then set up the configuration and start it up:
