The game starts with a small bet known as an "ante". Players are then given two cards each, one face up, and one faced down. The pocket card refers to the face down card. As in 7-card stud poker, the player with the lowest face up card on the table has to start the betting. The betting round continues with those players to the left of the person who placed the first wager. Players can choose between folding, calling and betting.
During the round of betting, players can raise, check or fold. The dealer will discard the card at the top end of the deck when the round ends. After visit here , the dealer flips over the next three cards face up on the table. This is the flop and these three community cards can be used by any player, in combination with their pocket cards, to make a poker hand. The next round begins with the player seated to the left side of the dealer.

Once betting is complete on the turn, a fifth and final card is dealt face up. The river is the next betting round. This is the final round in Hold'em betting.

Seven Card Stud, a popular version of poker, is played between two or eight players. Here, players are given three hole cards and four cards from the community. The goal is for the players to make the best five-card poker hand using the seven provided cards.
