Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was born December 7th 1963, in Edo State in Nigeria. He was raised in a faith-filled family with loving and dedicated parents. He is the child of the elder T.E Oyakhilome who was one of the founders of the Assemblies of God Church in Benin City. Angelina and the matriarch Oyakhilome were also his parents. Her divine grace was passed on to her son early.

The LoveWorld ministry is a joint effort of the family. His brother Reverend Ken (the revered pastor of Christ Embassy Houston, Texas Church) and a member of Christ Embassy Central Executive Council are his two sisters. KattyWorghiren, the director of LoveWorld Music and Arts Ministry is the home of several international best-selling gospel singers.

While still at university While still in university, the Man of God started what would later become the largest congregation in the world. It began with the formation of a small prayer group called 'Youth For Christ'. The group would eventually become the basis for LoveWorld Incorporated and Christ Embassy as well as eventually millions of followers across the globe.

Under the direction of Pastor Chris under the direction of Pastor Chris, the LoveWorld ministry was a pioneer in satellite television and Christian programming and production. LoveWorldSAT was the first Christian television station that broadcast out of Africa to the rest of the world, 24/7, continuously on free-to air networks. There are LoveWorld television stations on cable and satellite networks all over the globe.

Christ Embassy has strong presences in Pastor Chris's home country of Nigeria and also South Africa, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States. The ministry has two Healing Schools located in South Africa. These schools are where Pastor Chris holds seasonally sessions which allow miraculous events to occur.

Music and Gospel Music form an integral element of worship. Pastor Chris is a strong advocate for Christ Embassy Churches and Loveworld Music and Arts Ministry trained choirs. The Man of God founded NGOs to offer vital services and hope to the needy, poor and neglected. COFI is a partnership of five who are dedicated to enhancing living standards in some the most neglected regions.

COFI supervises the InnerCity Mission, ICM for Children, the Volunteer Medical Corps and Trauma International Foundation (TCIF), Future Africa Leaders Foundation , and the Bible For All Mission. Each of these groups works to improve the lives and health of the most vulnerable.

The charity also offers assistance for children who are in need. Through COFI and The InnerCity Mission, Pastor Chris believes in promoting communities with strong foundations through promoting good governance, accountable leadership, and sustainable development throughout Africa and in other vulnerable parts of the world in accordance to the Sustainable Development Goals.
