How To Play Minecraft On LAN [TLauncher]

The game has long introduced the option to create a local server in your own world, and all who are on your local network will be able to connect to your server. While everything is fairly straightforward, there are many limitations. In this article, we will go over each one in detail. Select the configuration you wish to use from the content and follow the instructions.

Server Configuration When You Are on the Same Wi-Fi or LAN Network with Another Player

This setting will work well if there are multiple computers connected to the same WiFi or LAN network (connected through cable) and they are not too far apart.

Windows: Open the Start Menu on the PC that will host the server. In the search box, type cmd to open this program.

Enter ipconfig into the window. Look for your local IP. It starts with 192.168.*. * , for example, 192.168.1.47 (yours will be the other! Copy it.

MacOS: To locate the local IP, open Terminal (you can search for it in the Mac search), then type ifconfig * to copy it.

Go to your world and in the Pause menu (Esc) click Open to LAN. You will see a message in the chat about the successful opening of your server.

You will need to connect to another PC. To do this, you will need to open the version with TL icon.

Enter the IP address + port you have previously obtained, 192.168.1.47.31790 in our example. If everything is OK, the connection will be established! You can now play on the server with a friend.

Configuration of a Server for Playing Over the Internet with a Hamachi Player

If you cannot be with another player on the same network physically, because PCs are far from each other, you can create a special network over the Internet using Hamachi.

On both PCs, do the following: Create a Hamachi account and download the program (after clicking on the link, the Download button is in the center).

Install the program. Now, click on "Create an additional network" on any of the Hamachi-logged PCs. Enter any name or password. The new network will now appear in the window.

Now, open TLauncher. Choose the version with a TL symbol and run the game. Logging to the TLauncher.org account is better. You will not be able connect to the server if you choose the version without the TL icon.

Go to your World and click Open to LAN in the Pause menu. The chat will display a message about successful opening of the server as well as the server port (60000 in the example, you will have another).

Click on "Connect with an existing network" to connect to another PC. Enter the network name or password that you have previously created. If the connection is successful, your friend's PC will be visible in the Hamachi window.

You should also open the version on another computer with the TL icon (also, the version on the first PC must be the same), go to Multiplayer, and then open Direct connect.

Enter the address of Hamachi in the IP field. This is the address of the computer that opened the server. If everything is okay, the connection should be established. You can now play on the server with a friend.

Setting up a Local Minecraft Server with Mods

Once you have setup the server to play on a WiFi (LAN), or Hamachi network, you can install mods to play with your friends. It is easy to follow.

Install on all clients exactly the same mods, everything should be identical, also the Forge version itself should be the same, for example, ForgeOptiFine 1.12.2. Make sure the version has the TL icon

Now create and connect to the server according to the same instructions above, depending on your network. Done, you can play Minecraft with mods!

Possible Problems and Solutions

- An "Invalid Session or Check User Name" error occurs when you try to connect to the server.

Solution: The version must be run with the TL icon. If you run exactly this version, make sure the "Account Management", "Use Tancher Skins" checkbox (in launcher) is activated.

- When connecting to the server "Io.netty.channel.AbstractChannel$AnnotatedConnectException: Connection time out: no further information" error appears.

Solution: The game couldn't find information about this server so the network configuration was incorrect. Try to disable anti-virus and firewall on the host computer or configure it correctly.

- When connect to the server, chunk loading is in progress, but immediately after that the server drops the connection (there is a disconnection).

Solution: Although the network configuration is correct, the firewall and antivirus are causing the connection to drop. https://yery.net/ Disable them or configure them properly.
