The online storage of videos isn't reliable. Websites can shut down or even fail. Here's how to backup your social media videos to your personal computer.

My personal story isn’t too big. My story is not lengthy. I was born, attended school, worked, and finally got online. But it also includes some traumatic moments where I believed that everything was gone forever. One of those moments was when my personal computer at work went quiet. However, after a little tweaking and moving my old hard drive to the new and installing a brand new desktop, I was able restore all the work that was stored on the drive. It took me three days of sweating and tears... However, I learned one important thing: Dropbox and personal FTP servers are a great way to backup my daily work automatically and manually.

But it's definitely not the best solution.. The larger your online data storage capacity, the more you will have to shell out to preserve it. It's easy to use and it seems to be very secure. It's also very easy to download from any internet-connected device. What happens when WiFi or any other internet connection is not available? These are the times when I am glad to have my laptop around with me. It is my final safe harbor for backups. Two drives I own that I use as RAID stacks. They copy each other and I keep one copy in case one of my HDDs is damaged. youtubemp3 I copy only data there, mostly, so rarely make the laptop work. This way I'm hoping two drives won't be destroyed on the same day..

Another big day of grief was few months back.. I'm very careful not to lose all of my work, as I mentioned above, now I copy it several times over and can access it wherever internet is available. This was Periscope. It was a tool I often used number of years ago. And even last summer, when there were riots in the city, I was able make a few live streaming. In the present, Periscope TV is closing down and all videos will disappear in a few weeks. What can I do? The entire video must be downloaded to my laptop so that they can be saved offline. They are very important to me. This is the last time I've seen my friend, who vanished from radars in Covid. It seems like it got him.


I go to his website that allows me to download videos directly from Youtube, Instagram, Facebook and many other sources. I am interested in politics as well as underground movements. Therefore, I record many live events, then save some for the future and publish some on Youtube. Each time I complete live, I save it to my laptop. This is the way I do it. It allows me to share Youtube video via Facebook but also to upload the video on Facebook. The video can be then its own video. In reality I am able to store more than 3TB live feeds from the past 8 years. Periscope lives never cease to exist.. I find this site extremely helpful.

It functions as a angel. The video I would like to save on Periscope or Youtube is displayed. I copy the URL by using the share button. Then , I visit the site for downloading videos and paste video link where they want it, hit big button and in seconds I see multiple options to download the video. I save it on my computer or desktop to copy it across other platforms, and then save it for people I know and love. Periscope is not available on every site.

Windows copy is a method to merge these fragments into one single file. It happens because of the format of video used to create the video fragments - Mpeg TS aka transport stream. The stream includes all data necessary to decode each fragment. They are distinct from one another, allowing every newcomer to stream seamlessly. The browser also saves data by downloading 360 10 second videos. It only downloads the streams you are currently watching. The player will receive three to four fragments of the 25 second stretch and 1-2 following fragments depending on how long it continues to watch the stream. This decreases the download time, as it only downloads 25 seconds after the start of the stream.
