How To Create A FREE Minecraft Bedrock Server

This server is completely gratuitous and powerful enough to run a Bedrock Server. A similar amount of RAM costs $5 per month.

Verify your email.

Enter your details and click "Start my free trial"

Unless you choose to, you won't be charged.

Next, we need to create an virtual machine to run our Server

Fill in the fields as shown

Now, scroll down to the 'Image and shape' section. Make sure that "Canonical Ubuntu 20.04" is selected, then check that the shape is set to AMD VM.Standard.E2.1.Micro

Note: The pre-set shape may not work with Ubuntu. To change the Image, simply switch the shape to one that does.

Next, we will need to select a virtual clouds network (VCN). If you already have a VCN with a public network, choose it. If not, select 'Create a new virtual cloud network'. Then, choose 'Create a public subnet' and accept the default names. Make sure you select 'Assign an IPv4 address public'. Otherwise, you won't be able to connect to this server via the internet. ).

Now we need to associate an "SSH" key pair with this VM. If you are familiar with the concept and have a public keys that you wish to use, click 'Upload public keys files' and upload your publickey. If this is your first time using SSH keys, these keys will allow you securely log in to the server. Click 'Generate SSH key pair' and save your private and public keys to your local machine. These keys will be used to log in to the VM in a matter of seconds.

Your Private Key will be used to log in later, so don't forget it.

Leave the default boot volume values and click Create'.

Once you click 'Create,' you will be redirected directly to the VM details page. Your VM instance will now be in a PROVISIONING status.

After 30-60 seconds or so, the state will switch to RUNNING . Find your public IP Address and copy it.

Next, we will open ports so players can access the server.

Next, click Add Ingress Rules

To install the Minecraft software on our VM we must connect remotely to it. If you are unfamiliar with SSH, I recommend you read this article.

Powershell can be used as your connecting program if you are on Windows (most likely). Open Powershell and type this: powershell -i (filepath to your private keys) ubuntu@ (VM ip addresses)

BEFORE: Doing this make sure you research how to protect you private key file, because it will not work otherwise.

This is what it looks to log into your vm.

Next, you will need to install multiple programs in order to get started.

Run these commands:

sudo aptget install firewalld

These commands will enable firewall access and screen to ensure that your server is running after you have finished it.

Next, enter powershell during your ssh session

sudo firewall cmd --permanent

sudo firewall cmd --permanent

sudo firewall-cmd --reload

Then:

sudo su - Minecraft

mkdir Bedrock

wget https://minecraft.azureedge.net/bin-linux/bedrock-server-1.17.2.01.zip -O server.zip

unzip server.zip

rm server.zip

If necessary visit https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download/server/bedrock and check the latest download link and substitute it.

Then run these commands:

chmod +x ./bedrock_server

This last command will launch your server:

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=. ./bedrock_server

You can now connect with your server using the VM’s IP and the standard port. The name is not important.

However, if you close your terminal, your server will stop. To stop your server, type "stop" or close your window, and then log in again (note: you'll need these commands again sudo su- Minecraft).

cd Bedrock

Enter.

then run this command again: LD_LIBRARY_PATH=. ./bedrock_server

You should now have a functioning bedrock server, with 1 gb ram, and 1 xenon core, good for atleast 20 players. You can do this for a Java server by following this link.
