How To Setup A Free Minecraft Server 1.19 Update

Setting up a Java-based Minecraft server can be tricky for those who aren't savvy with file movement and editing. The task is actually much easier than it looks at first glance.

Mojang also provides a guide on the game's official website to help players through the process. With one folder and a few files, players will have a base server that they can tweak to their liking or play right away in version 1.19.

This works for all versions of the game. Mojang has many versions of the server file.

Minecraft players can follow the below steps to set up a free server.

1. Go to the official site of the game, where you will find the Java file for the server. 1.19 players want to make sure they download the server.1.19.0.jar. This is the current server build. 2. Players should create a folder in which to place the downloaded.jar file. You can name it anything you like, but "Minecraft Server", will work well. Once players have created their folder, they can place the downloaded.jar file within. 3. Players should next open the command prompt and enter cd followed by the directory of the folder where the .jar file is located. For example, C:UsersAdminDesktopMinecraft Server or whatever directory the folder resides in. Players can check this directory by opening the server folder and checking the top of the window.

4. Next, players need to type Java –jar server.1.19.0.jar. Click on the Enter key. Players will receive an error, but this is intended, as it will generate a necessary EULA file.

5. Players should return to their server folder and open the EULA.txt document with their preferred text editors such as Notepad.

6. Look for the line that reads "eula=false" and change this line to read "eula=true" before saving changes and closing the text editor.

7. A server.properties file should also be present. This file will need to be opened using a text editor. Some players might need to select "Open With", and then manually choose their text editors to properly open the file.

8. Players should pay attention the line reading "query.port", which will list the ports that players must forward on their routers where applicable. This line may not be necessary depending on the hardware setup of a player. MY BLOG Traditionally, players need to forward the default port number of 25565 in the router's settings. However the port may differ in some cases.

9. The rest will control how the server functions. To change the default game mode of the server, "gamemode", can be set to Survival, Creative, Adventure. Players can also adjust things such as difficulty, PvP access and maximum players, as well as whether or not the Nether is available.

10. Once the server.properties have been modified, players can save their changes. Then, all players need to do is repeat Steps 3 and 4 to run their server. If everything has been performed correctly, the .jar file should begin running the server, and players should be able to connect to it.

11. Players will tie their IP address to the server IP address if they did not create a specific IP address in server properties. If a player's computer address is 192.168.0.5 then the server IP will be the same. Minecraft's multiplayer menu allows players access to the server by entering their IP followed by the forward port. For example, an address for players to connect to might be 192.168.0.5:25565. To connect to their server directly from the multiplayer menu, the player hosting the server can enter localhost.

Once these steps have been completed, Minecraft players should be able and the server administrator should be able for them to connect to the server. If you need to make further changes, the administrator can reopen your server.properties files in their text editor. You can also modify any of the listed settings as necessary.
