Keeping your vision so fresh and so clear, around the cheap
Whipping past low hanging branches inside trees, ice, snow, and also the occasional yard sale can wreak havoc on your preferred gear. But while several small dings on your own helmet won’t render it unusable, scrapes and scratches on your own goggle lenses can impair you vision and aren’t cheap to replace.
Nothing stings like since first nick in your fresh pair of goggles—especially if the result of a bonehead move like dropping your goggles in the parking zone gravel (guilty!). Even typical wear eventually beats in your gear and yes it doesn’t stay new for long.
Last season, I tried to have some protection precautions for my newest set of two goggles and gave the Ripclear Goggle Lens Protectors a whirl. The anti-scratch, anti-fog plastic film proceeded my lens as quickly as the screen protector in my phone. There’s no cutting or sizing to match because the lens protectors are sized small, medium, large, and youngsters, and there’s a cut created for either flat or spherical lens shapes.
The super-thin plastic film doesn’t go all the way to the advantage of my goggles, but didn’t hinder my vision. sunglass lens protection film survived a complete season of deep tree skiing and parking lot mishaps without peeling up round the edges. I used the included microfiber cleaning cloth and cleaning wipes following daily to keep my lens clean and clear. When the lens protector did suffer a few scratches, it peeled of just as easily since it was applied. I slapped a replacement back on my untarnished lens (it arrived a 3-pack) and I’m good to go again next season. Pretty simple, pretty genius.
