Today, we are bringing you an animation and another piece of art from real life. Reddit user GoodSirCompany uploaded this cute clip of their first Lego Minecraft stop motion animation. It shows a player character wearing black armour, running up to an unconscious skeleton and killing them. It's a nice little work, and while it has some rough edges, it has a nice smoothness in the combat.
It's also full of wonderful little details. Pharaoh's blog One of the most impressive elements is the fire. It flickers to create the illusion of movement in the mini diorama. You'll also see a cameo from a suspicious source in the background for the keen-eyed. Who doesn't love a good cameo?
GoodSirCompany is making its first attempt at this. There are some very useful comments to it. The shadows in the background move, but a good light source can help. Camera shake is common when GoodSirCompany hits its camera button. Slasken06 suggested that the shake can be fixed by using wireless headphones to take the photos. You could also use a remote. If you didn't expect some stop motion tips, consider this all a bonus.
