Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was a child of faith who was raised by a loving family and was supported by his parents. He was the oldest of four children born to the elder T.E Oyakhilome, one of the pioneers of the Assemblies Of God Church in Benin City, and Angelina, and the matriarch of the Oyakhilome family, who imprinted her divine grace on her son from a young age.


The LoveWorld ministry is supported by all members of the family. His brother Reverend Ken (the revered pastor of Christ Embassy Houston, Texas Church) and a member of Christ Embassy Central Executive Council are his two sisters. KattyWorghiren, the director of LoveWorld Music and Arts Ministry is the home of several top-selling gospel singers.

Pastor Chris has two daughters: Carissa Sharon and Charlene. Carissa Sharon, also known by the name of CSO she has chosen to follow the footsteps of her father by sharing the gospel of God the world. She is an accomplished gospel singer who has won awards and is a member of the LoveWorld Music and Arts Family.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome began his education in Edo College. After a grant was made to study architecture at Bendel State University (now Ambrose Ali University) and he earned a BSc degree in Architecture and an honorary Doctor of Science. He is a recipient of an honorary doctorate in divinity from Benson Idahosa University. Ambrose Ali University was the campus where he felt God called him to become an ordained minister to the Lord.

When he was still at university, The Man of God created what would become one of the largest churches around the world. He started an informal prayer group called "Youth for Christ" which would later grow into the most popular organisation of its type on campus. It was also the basis for the future Christ Embassy and LoveWorld Incorporated, with millions of followers across the globe.

The LoveWorld ministry under the direction of Chris the pastor, Chris has become an early pioneer in satellite television as well as Christian television programming. In the present, LoveWorld television stations are accessible on satellite and cable networks around the world.

Christ Embassy has a strong presence in Pastor Chris's home country of Nigeria, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States. The church has two Healing Schools, based in South Africa and Canada, where Pastor Chris holds seasonal sessions where miracles are performed.

A committed philanthropist Pastor Chris Oyakhilome established the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation International (COFI) COFI, Non-profit, non-governmental, non-profit organization that was founded to assist the most vulnerable people and communities in the most deprived regions and countries of the world.

COFI is responsible for the InnerCity Mission ICM for Children as well as the Volunteer Medical Corps VMC, Traumacare International Foundation TCIF, Future Africa Leaders Foundation (FALF) and in addition to the Bible For All Mission. Each of these groups works to enhance the health, lives and spirits of the most in need.

The charity also offers assistance for children in need. Pastor Chris believes that solid communities are supported by COFI and The InnerCity Mission. This encourages accountability and good governance. The charity also helps to promote sustainable development in Africa as well as other regions of the world, in line to the Sustainable Development Goals.
