[Update: Nov. 05] New Minecraft Launcher Not Working, Update Or Installation Problem Surfaces

Minecraft isn't just a video game. It's a phenomenon that has been enjoyed by everyone. It is one the most popular video games ever, with more than 140 millions active users each month.



Mojang Studios, the developer of the game, regularly pushes out updates to the game because it is an online game. Some of those updates can lead to serious issues.



Some players complained recently that their Xbox and Nintendo Switch games were missing animals, villagers, or armor stands.



Some recent reports (1.2,3,4,5.6,7.8) have indicated that many Minecraft players are having trouble with the launcher not working. While some say that the game fails to launch with several errors popping up, some say that the launcher does not load for them.



Having said that, the game is unplayable for everyone affected by the new Minecraft launcher not working issue. We can only pray that Minecraft developers will investigate the matter and take responsibility.



Here is one of many errors Minecraft players are making.



Whenever I try to start my minecraft launcher, I keep getting this error message: "Minecraft Launcher is currently not available in your account. Retry again after logging in to the Store. Here's the error code in case you need it: "0x803F8001". This is the only way I know of to fix it. It would be great to have some assistance. (Source)



Hello all! I just installed the new minecraft launcher through the xbox app on Windows 11. It seems like it resets every time I launch the new minecraft launcher. It seems like I have to log in again each time. My profiles don't save (optifine and vivecraft, forge, etc ). It just resets to the 1.17.1 profile. Anyone else experiencing this problem as well? Hello! I tried to install the new launcher today but it wouldn't launch when I tried to launch. It did not work. I tried to reinstall Minecraft, remove the old launcher, and so forth. It won't open. It opens the old launcher, but it doesn't want to open. Any ideas? (Source)



Unfortunately, this is not the only issue Minecraft players are facing right now. Others complained of having difficulty installing the new launcher.



So, I open the launcher and a red bar appears at bottom announcing my "fancy" new launcher. I click it to take me to the Microsoft Store, where I click Install. Then... nothing happens. There's no download window, there's no progress bar and nothing in my downloaded folder. What is wrong? (Source)



I can't install the new windows 10 Minecraft launcher, I can't install it from microsoft store for some reason and downloading the file doesn't work too (Source)



There is also the Optifine installation problem. Many people report that the Optifine game is not installing for them. Some even report that it is causing their system crash.



My computer crashes every time I try to reinstall Optifine so I can play minecraft with the new launcher (they unified Java launchers and unified bedrock launchers). Any ideas? (Source)

But as it turns out, it is not Minecraft developers' fault and an issue with Optifine itself. The company has since acknowledged the issue, and stated that a solution will be available soon.



Small Update to the Announcement: Currently, updating your Minecraft launcher causes OptiFine's installer to not work properly, it won't find the new launcher_profiles.json file. The launcher has had many issues, so it was not ready for public release. If and when Mojang Studio acknowledged the issues with the new Minecraft launcher not working for many, we will update this space with more information.

1:19 PM (IST). Xwcb The game maker acknowledged that the Minecraft launcher wasn't working and said they're working to fix it.
