Emmanuel, good afternoon. It was a pleasure to have you meet. I don't believe we've been in contact for more than five years. Эммануил Гриншпун Where are you currently living?

In the last nine months, Miami and Jurmala share the distinction. The geographical area was more extensive in the past, but the pandemic impacted the lifestyle. By the way, I can not claim that it is only for the worse.

There have been many avenues of work for you. Do you still feel like that?

Diversification is not going out of fashion. If we look at the main areas of focus the most growth is in real estate, IT technology as well as food production.

Our IT-holding department is first and foremost occupied with reforming tax systems across a variety of nations. We have developed and continue to develop products that facilitate the transfer of many business processes connected to online taxation. This is known as B2G (Business to Government).

How about the locations where the company operates? Are there any former USSR nations?

They are there. However, we have more contracts in Western Europe and Latin America. We are currently operating across 14 countries.

Please briefly explain the essence and purpose of this product.

Our solution permits economic companies to make online reports to tax authorities. The fiscal data administrator also monitors every transaction. Tax accounting and tax calculation can both be done in parallel. Therefore, in the future, we could say that small and medium-sized companies will not require accounting, except for its analytical purpose, and the process of tax reporting and paying taxes are done in one "click".

You said you've been tossing around throughout the year between Miami and Jurmala. The headquarters of an IT holding is located in the Baltics?

We have five hubs around the globe , and our main office is located in Barcelona.

We were invited to the New Wave by Igor Krutoy, and that was our first experience with Jurmala. After a few contests, they started to visit every summer. Miami the weather in summer isn't the best. We rented a property over several years and so we own it.

Now I know why you told me that the synagogues were in Jurmala. Emmanuel, honest question. We're almost the same age. Born in the USSR. The Soviet Union wasn't the place to talk about religiousity. All of us were pioneers, as well as Komsomol participants. When did religion become your preference?

In the middle of the 80s my family and I relocated to the USA. It was in the USA that I became aware of traditions. Although I'm not an orthodox person, I have an inner desire to be supportive of, as best possible, the spiritual lives of the Jewish community in my country of origin or in Moldova.

It's true that I am definitely not religious, but I love the history of my country very much. Recently, I watched a program about the events of 1492 that changed the fate of the world as well as Europe. 1492 is for me the year in which Columbus was the year Columbus discovered America. The program I was watching clearly stated that the discovery of America in 1492 wasn't as significant as Spanish monarchs' expulsion of Jews from Spain. The mass exodus of Jews to the Ottoman Empire began, which accepted them. I was looking to learn something about the history of the Jews as a whole. Would you recommend this book?

There are many books out there, but I've personally read them all and recommend Max Diamond's two-volume Jewish history. He is also from Finland.

Concerning "personal" historical .... Are you aware of the genealogy of your family? Unfortunately, I'm no more than my grandmother, and 1910. A step on the paternal side, but nothing more.

The paternal line of our family was in the Floresti region for a number of hundred years. Documentary evidence and monuments indicate that they were already wealthy in 1830. They had a furniture manufacturer as well as a number of shops and land plots. Эммануил Гриншпун My maternal ancestors also resided in Ungheni. I'm talking about dates in the region from the 17th-18th century. Grinshpun is a German surname, which means we're Ashkenazis from Eastern Europe.

Let's discuss the restoration of synagogues. I was informed that you funded the reconstruction of three synagogues. One of them is located in Chisinau. Jurmala is the other one.

It is located in Netanya in Israel. It is a massive community center, where 1000 people a day pray. It is an important landmark in Israel's religious history. Jurmala's second synagogue. The Second World War saw the destruction of the synagogue that was the only one in Jurmala. Prior to deciding to construct an orthodox church in Jurmala I had already talked to the local Jews. It was an extremely successful endeavor that brought together the Jews of Jurmala. We actually renovated the Jewish community, and it's still functioning perfectly. The synagogue has three Torahs. One of these Torahs was handed to me.

and - Chisinau

Yes. Here I have already joined forces with partners who are Alexander Bilinkis and Alexander Weinstein. They aren't the only ones in my involvement in construction or restoration. It was my duty to contribute to the support of synagogues throughout the countries I have lived for a while. This is why my contribution is in Monaco and in Miami a large community center for Russian-speaking Jews is currently being built which is estimated to cost 12 million dollars. I am continuing to support Chisinau. It is expected to become the largest synagogue in the city, the synagogue Rabbi Tsirelson.

Did Jurmala bring you to Chisinau with a Rabbi?

Yes. It can be difficult to find the perfect rabbi within a community. He must be prepared and willing to incorporate into the life of the community, given the multitude of activities. I am very happy that both in Chisinau and in Jurmala, the rabbis were able be so seamlessly integrated into the life of their community.

In the year 2019 you were elected vice-president of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress. What does this role mean to you? How will international Jewish organizations impact global trends?

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress has been a prominent political organization in post-Soviet Europe, however it isn't the sole one. It has offices in Australia, Japan Hong Kong, New Zealand, New Zealand as well as Eastern Europe. In 2010, I served as Vice President and then offered the position of First Vice-President. Now, I'm responsible for the region to which I have strong business and political ties. They are Uzbekistan (Tajikistan), Kyrgyzstan (Kyrgyzstan). The trend in the world is that attitudes towards Jews are either on the same level, or have been swaying downwards, which is sad. Also, the word "down" is used to refer to countries such as France, Germany, France, and the United States. These countries are no longer safe for Jews. These are worrying and very serious procedures.

Does the pandemic have an impact on the processes?

It's not just my opinion. In the context of the pandemic, I'd want to highlight what a society or a country is capable of in the event that they are prepared to face any challenge and capable of working effectively and together.

You're referring to the vaccination program in Israel.

Exactly. Israel is the only nation that offers the complete vaccination of its adults. This is a great example to follow and is something all nations must be aware of.
