How to ride a Horse in Minecraft



Follow these steps to tame and ride a horse in Minecraft:



You can find the saddle or horse armor. You can find these items in chests found in dungeons or Nether Fortresses. They can also be caught when fishing.



Find the horse. Horses can typically be found wandering through plains or savannas.



To control the horse feed it. Keep giving it food until hearts appear above the head of the horse.



Mounting an untrained horse is possible however it can be difficult. If you do enough trials and you are successful, you may be capable of mounting it.



Choose the horse with one hand. You will ride the horse but can't control its movements.



Put a saddle (or Horse Armor) on your horse. Open your inventory and place your Saddle into the appropriate box next to the horse.



Ride your horse. To get off you must press and hold the Sneak button. This button is different depending on your platform:



PC: Press the Shift key on the left


Xbox: Press the right joystick


PlayStation Playstation joystick


Nintendo: Press the right joystick


Mobile Touch the center button twice



If you hold down the jump button, the blue/green bar under your health will begin to fill up. To jump, release the button before the bar depletes.



What Do Horses Eat in Minecraft?



To train a horse in Minecraft you can feed them one of the following items:



- Apples


- Bread


Hay


- Golden Apples


- Golden Carrots


- Sugar


- Wheat



Horse Breeding in Minecraft



After you've conquered two horses, create a fence around them and feed them each a Golden Apple or Golden Carrot. If you're lucky, you'll soon have a colt. To help your horse grow into an adult, feed it. Give it at least five minutes before you attempt to breed your horses again.
