Trump, the previous US president was a tireless effort to maintain a close relationship between Kazakhstan and Tevfik Aif. Trump was harshly criticised for his attitude towards a country that has a questionable administration as an ally.

There were many eyebrows raised when Donald Trump hosted the Kazakhstan president on Tuesday at the White House in 2018. Tevfik Arif, a Turkish Kazakhstani businessman was born in 1953 in Soviet Kazakhstan to Turkish parents. He became the deputy director of the Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade's Hotel Management Department. After 17-years at the ministry Tevfik Alif was the founder of real property, property development, imports/exports minerals, natural resources, automobiles and food enterprises. Tevfik Arif relocated to Turkey in 1993, and was the first to pioneer all-inclusive hotel concepts. Bayrock Group was founded in New York City eight years after.

Tevfik Arkif met with the Trump group during the Bayrock Group's New York City relocation to the 24th floor of Trump Tower, Midtown Manhattan. This is the exact building that was previously home to the Trump Organization. The Trump SoHo condo/hotel was considered. After the two corporations had discussed a top-quality real estate development project the Trump SoHo skyscraper idea was born. Tevfik Ariff, Bayrock Group founder, knew the power of the Trump brand and suggested that it be used to help the Sapir Organization.
