In the summer of 2020, Minecraft: Education Edition will take students from China on a new learning journey! For the first time, we are partnering with Microsoft and experts from around the world to make Minecraft Education Edition international to Chinese students. To begin, we're welcoming students in China to take part in the Minecraft: Education Edition Summer Camp.
Students can enjoy the two-month camp for free which allows them to master Minecraft while at home. From July 13th until September 6, 12 lessons that include pre-recorded tutorials taught by lecturers will be made available for download. Students will be able to access more than 70 Minecraft Educational Edition worlds free of charge and in addition to recorded lessons. Learners will learn about The Secret of the Giant Tower and how the use of chemistry can make super fertilizer. They will also learn inventive ways to save an island covered in trash.
What can students anticipate from the Summer Camp in China?
We've partnered with lecturers and educational institutions from all over the globe to create the Minecraft: Education Edition China Summer Camp in China. Our partners include industry leaders in children's programming such as NetEase Youdao, Bell.AI, iandcode.com, Kodu.club, ChinaSoft International and other reputable certification bodies such as Cambridge Assessment English.
This Summer Camp is entirely based on Minecraft. It is designed to foster a sense of community and fun through immersive 3D scenarios. Participants will play, explore, and enjoy the benefits of self-expression in their worlds. The camp's communal learning setting will also help inspire creative thinking and problem-solving, all while fostering relationship-building as students learn together.
After completing the course after which all Minecraft adventurers will receive the certificate they earned for participation in the camp. They'll also be able to upload their work to the internet so that other Minecraft enthusiasts around the world can view their work. There's even a chance for friendly competition in which students can compete to receive prizes!
