There is a new movement in retailing that seeks to increase the ROI of retailers by reducing the margin killers that plague retail shelves. Redundancy and shortages are the biggest killers of retail margins, and push-dominated supply chains generate a significant waste - lost sales and discounts. Last-mile responsiveness can eliminate these problems and increase shelf productivity. This movement is known as Retailisation, and it is a bold but necessary mission for retailers.
Feelgood Tap
The Feelgood Tap is an initiative to help local nonprofit organizations by offering beer at select locations. Since its founding, the Detroit brewery has raised more than $60,000 to support various causes. Each quarter, the board of directors of FeelGood Tap selects a statewide charity and votes to select the regional nonprofit organization. In addition, local businesses are invited to choose their favorite groups to receive donations. The tap started in Detroit at Batch Brewing and is now expanding across the country.
In the past, Feelgood Tap has donated $1 per beer to local nonprofits. Its program involves a simple concept: every time a consumer buys a beer at a participating establishment, they are also making a difference. They collect the money raised from the $1 donation, write a check and distribute it to a Michigan-based nonprofit. Feelgood Tap is available in 38 locations across metro Detroit. The company envisions expanding across the country and even to Canada.
Stove and Tap
The new restaurant at The Goods On Tap in Pittsburgh is called the "Stove and the Dandelion." Despite its name, the eatery is a little different. Its interior is a mixture of colors and patterns, including a Warhol-themed wallpaper and Mexican-themed print. The restaurant hopes to appeal to a broad audience with its mix of classic and contemporary American dishes. The restaurant is located in a 6,000-square-foot building. Its restaurant will seat up to 70 people at one time, but when dining returns, that number will rise to 150. In addition to the dining room, the bar will have forty-four bar stools, so you can sit at a table or at the bar.
The new Stove and Tap West Chester is a neighborhood spot that is better than I thought it would be. It has the gravitational pull of home that I enjoy. If it were in the Old City, Manayunk, Fairmount, or Fishtown, it could have held its own. Instead, it is nestled in Main Street Lansdale, among the slowly gentrifying neighborhood. That's a real treat.
Dan's Tap House
Comfortable, 2-story pub serves regional and American food. Thirty-plus craft beers are available on tap. Enjoy your meal with a view of the roaring fireplace or with a good book. A warm, friendly atmosphere beckons. There are several options for alcoholic beverages. Enjoy live music most nights. And don't forget to try one of the 30+ craft beers on tap. Dan's is a popular destination for locals and visitors alike.
This popular bar supports local breweries and farms. While the interior and exterior design are aesthetically pleasing, it's worth mentioning that the bathroom has a deep copper-tin bowl sink. Wrought-iron light fixtures provide muted lighting, while battery-powered candles add a nice touch to the tables. Exposed brick walls provide an air of history and charm. Several appetizers and sandwiches are also available for takeout.
Stove and Co. Restaurant Group
The Stove and Co. Restaurant Group has announced that it plans to open four new restaurants featuring outdoor seating in suburban Philadelphia. The company is planning to open a new restaurant in West Chester this spring, and the company is also redeveloping a third location in nearby Montgomery County. With the help of an architect, the new location will feature an Americana interior, complete with taxidermy, wood, and metal. The new location will also feature elevated bar fare and a robust beverage program.
The restaurant group owns restaurants in the Weatherstone Town Center in Chester Springs and West Chester. It is also partnering with the Hankin Group to open a pizza pub in the Weatherstone Town Center. The Revival Pizza Pub will offer pizza, sandwiches, and salads and will specialize in craft beer. The group's co-owners, Joe Monnich and Justin Weathers, both natives of Berwyn, say that the name "revival" resonated with them. It is fitting, given their respective backgrounds, that the group has grown by two restaurants.
