The Problems With 'Possums
A lot of us feel better nature by placing bird feeders inside our backyard. One from the problems related to bird feeders is the unwanted guests the bird feeder may attract.

Many air conditioners have openings inside the frame on which the machine sits. Animals can squeeze through these openings and gain access to your crawlspace. Now they have a very safe home to reside, in close proximity to a water and source of food.
Not being house-broken, these animals deposit waste (usually along the inside foundation wall) beneath your house, and you'll start to experience unpleasant odors filtering up into your property. Another problem primarily connected with possums are fleas.
Over time, as fleas multiply on these animals some from the fleas will will surface through the floor and to the house. Our company gets several phone calls every month from your own home owners with flea problems who don't even own pets. Many times those fleas will be the result of a possum or any other animal inside crawlspace.
Now onto a few in the more unpleasant possum problems. One is odor. Possums will exude a very unpleasant green secretion from time to time of distress in fact it is a serious smell to behold. Possums also use a very short lifespan. Whether it's a design flaw, bad luck or perhaps plain lack of intelligence, possums live on average only 2 years inside the wild.
