Although the street closed in 1996, the installation of Peek-a-Boo boards continued, in different locations. The colorful characters that are part of the program are not exclusively for children; they have been enjoyed by people of all ages.

Volunteers

Aozzora is a Japanese word for "blue sky." This organization is based in Brooklyn, NY. It provides cultural and educational programs for the neighborhood. Volunteers are needed for a wide range of projects. Volunteers work in the educational program, cultural center, and on the garden. Volunteers will be taught Japanese language, culture, and history. The volunteers' work is invaluable in helping the community maintain its unique culture.

In addition to helping the museum with its educational and cultural activities, volunteers also help preserve documents and information on pollution.
