The arsonists had an idea in mind: they set the towers of cell phones on fire in the shape of ears like bunnies. This pattern could be linked with the pandemic of coronavirus. But, no one has been able to prove this theory.

Although the theories were around for a long time, the recent hype around 5G has brought them to the forefront. For instance, a New York Times article noted that Russian propaganda network RT America had been broadcasting stories about threats to 5G. As a result, organizations like the Oakmore Neighborhood Advocacy Group have been using Pall's arguments at council meetings as well as community forums, and speaking out against 5G deployment in their region.
