It is based on the exact principle as Moire slit animations. This is an optical illusion created by the overlapping of lines. In essence, the lines cover different areas of an image and then combine with specially designed images to create movement. CRANIALCAVITY In reality the image isn't moving, but your brain thinks it does so because of what is hidden and what is displayed.
They also explained that changing resolution or viewing angle, FOV or speed potions can alter the effect. Then you'll need to find the perfect location to create a harmonic sample.
You can see just how precise the precision has to be when Dongxipunata begins to move forwards, and the entire process unravels into what appears like a visual glitch. The whole thing ends up looking like an eldritch monstrosity or, even more disturbingly it could be a 3D magical eye painting - as they approach the cow however that doesn't take away from how amazing the effect is.
