Like Minecraft Dungeons, Legends is creating new mobs for Minecraft.

Minecraft Legends creative director Magnus Nedfors and executive producer Dennis Ries sat down during the Xbox booth livestream at Gamescom this week to provide a couple new details about Legends, including info on some new mobs-both friend and foe. As with its past genre experiments, Mojang and Blackbird Interactive's coming RTS spinoff will make its own mark in the Minecraft world. Dungeons broke the rules of Minecraft mythology to create mobs that would be appropriate for its action RPG world and Legends is doing it too.
As we saw in the initial reveal trailer, the big baddies of Minecraft Legends are the familiar Nether inhabitants, the Piglins. Legends will add a "Pigmadillo" to the mix. It is a creature that crouch down inside a cube and, contrary to what you might think based on the geometrical structure of a cube's physical properties it rolls in a way that is offensive towards the intended target. Ries also explains that there are "Bruisers", which have two razor blades. Bit horror-esque, innit? Both mobs made an appearance in the new cinematic trailer that Mojang presented.
On the other side, you will find two types of golem joining your army: the Cobblestone Golem who is great at taking down enemy structures and the Plank Golem which Ries calls is a "Plank Golem" that is an armed unit that can be ranged. You can also use speed wheat and a specific mushroom to jump up to a higher level to travel across the globe and unlock new Legends areas.
Minecraft Dungeons, for its part, also introduced new mobs like the Iceologers and Mountaineers. The Minecraft Live 2020 fan vote to decide which mob should add to Vanilla Minecraft to Vanilla Minecraft included the Iceologers. They were defeated by Glow Squid, but I would like to see one of these Legends baddies have the same chance to achieve Vanilla Mine fame.
In case you didn't notice there's a badger in the trailer as well. Project Badger was the codename for Minecraft Legends before it was made public, which could be all that's a nod to. It could even be granted official mob status.
