Minecraft goats - how to tame and breed
Where can you find goats and what happens when you are on their bad side

There's been a lot of discussion about the "caves' aspect of the Minecraft 1.17 update however, not much has been said about the 'cliffs', and their latest Minecraft mob goats. We get it. Minecraft axolotls are great underwater companions and are potentially game changers. The Minecraft Warden is an all-new monster that is totally blind, but packs a punch. But why wouldn't anyone think of Minecraft's goats?
Yes, goats are present in Minecraft. Finally! There are many kinds of goats in the real world including the ibex, which can somehow walk on steep inclines, to the rather tragic fainting goat. The Minecraft goats are based off the Rocky Mountain goat (or Oreamnos americanus), and are well suited to both alpine and subalpine environments. They are not technically goats. They are more like antelopes square-shaped fakers.
Oh well, whatever the reason, they're the only thing ours and they at least appear to behave like the woolly beasts of the mountain tops that we have come to know and are fond of. This is everything you need to know about Minecraft goats.
Where to find goats in Minecraft
Minecraft goats are found on the top of surfaces with light levels seven or higher such as cliffs.
. It does not seem to matter that much whether the cliffs are encased in grass or snow, but they do seem to roam around more during the daylight hours.
If you're lucky you might also see goats who scream. Their only distinction from regular goats is that they bleat. You'll need to be attentive to spot them.
What are Minecraft goats do?
They're based off the Rocky Mountain goat, an antelope disguised as a goat in order to keep cool. It's difficult to replicate their unique trait of being able balance on steep surfaces and climb up high.
Instead, goats in Minecraft can jump two blocks high rather than the typical one block. They can easily clear small gaps and look impressive when they do. They can leap up to ten blocks in the air if they are confronted with blocks of powder snow or a hole in the ground.
They have 10 health points (five full hearts) and can attack for seven damage (three and a half hearts).
The majority of goats are quite passive, and as CaptainSparklez observed in the 1.17 beta snapshots, they won't attack you if you strike them first. Instead, they'll choose randomly that you're needed to be yelled off a ledge, and then ram into you with all force. Even if they are angry, they're more likely to target your enemies to defend you. If attacked, the goat will run away from its attacker.
How do I obtain the Goat Horn?
The Minecraft 1.17 update introduces a brand new item called the goat horn. The goat can drop up to two goat horns at once when it smashes into blocks. However, they can only drop one at a given time. Gathering several goats together in one area is the best way to acquire the goat horn. Then have them charge at each other. If a goat charging towards you hits the block their horn will break off.
If you use a goat horn, you'll make a sound like you're blowing through the horn to trigger an alarm. This is the same sound that you hear when you raid Minecraft villages. What's the source of this sound? There's some speculation that suggests the goat horn could be used in a future easter egg, however, as of right now the horn is only making the noise of raid.
What do Minecraft Goats eat?
Goats were the first animal domesticated in the real world due to their udders that eat grass, produce milk, and delicious meat. LEAVES FARM Wheat is a great way to get them to follow you, and feeding them the wheat puts them in the mood of love for breeding. You can also produce milk by placing an empty bucket or kill them to get raw mutton, or cook Mutton if your goat was burning however, who would do such a horrible thing?
Their ill-tempered nature does make it impossible to ride them, as opposed to Minecraft's horses, so they're probably the more important pet.
There's still a lot to learn about Minecraft's past and future via the Caves & Cliffs update. And that's not just about the new mobs. From copper ore to the Lush Caves, there's something for everyone, with more on the way when the Minecraft 1.18 update's release date finally is announced.
