Fresh from the warp pipe, it's Minecraft Nintendo Switch Edition! It's expected to be available today on the brand new console and handheld. It will roll out on the Nintendo eShop North America, then in Europe and Japan tomorrow.
Nintendo Switch Edition comes with fun features that are similar to other console versions of Minecraft and includes our incredibly fun multiplayer mini-games, Battle and Tumble. This version is designed for the versatile Switch. It lets you play with your friends online for eight players, eight player local play (if everyone has a Switch) or four players on a couch to play splitscreen before the TV. Are there any other squatters of your family hogging your TV? Use the kickstand on the Switch and play in tabletop mode! You can also play splitscreen with four players using the Joy-Cons or the Pro Controller.
After you're done, click the kickstand and take your creations along with you wherever you go. Play on the bus! Play in your bed! You can play it by backflipping the head of a Goomba and slide effortlessly down the entire length of the flagpole! (Not advised.) It will play at 60fps and resolution of 720p in all play modes and modes regardless of whether you're playing on your handheld or TV.
