YouTuber and Minecraft streamer Technoblade has passed away at the age of 23 after a long battle with stage four cancer.
The creator of content, who hails from San Francisco, who kept his identity closely guarded and only revealed his name in his final video as "Alex," exploded to fame after he began posting videos of himself playing Minecraft on YouTube in 2013 - eventually going on to amass more than 10 million subscribers.
He was diagnosed with stage four cancer last August. He spent the majority of the last year away from the spotlight as he underwent chemotherapy.
While it's not clear the type of cancer Alex was suffering from, he went on to raise funds for sarcoma charities and in December, he revealed that he had undergone surgery to remove a tumor from his arm.
In a video that was uploaded to Technoblade's YouTube channel today, which was titled 'So long nerds', his father, whose name is unknown was able to share the sad news of his son's death with his many followers, while relaying a posthumous farewell from the renowned YouTube star.
He called his son "the most amazing child" and shared an audio recording of his son. He stated that if he had another hundred lives, he would prefer to be Technoblade again because those were the best years of my life.

Technoblade, who was highly private and rarely divulged details of his personal life mostly posted videos about sandbox game Minecraft.
He was blessed with three younger sisters and an older brother named Chris, and a dog named Floof who was featured in his video of farewell with his father.
He also revealed that his parents divorced, and that he was in the same home as his father who owns an entertainment studio.
After graduating from high school, he took a gap-year before moving to Chicago to learn English.

He quickly gained a massive following, sharing numerous clips of playing Minecraft with them, but the player never revealed his identity or name to fans.
He announced the shocking news of his cancer diagnosis in August in a video called "Where I've Been" that has been viewed over 13 million times.
In the video, he explained to fans he had been diagnosed with cancer following a thought there was an injury to his arm and revealing: 'In the final days of July, my right arm started to hurt quite a bit.'

He believed it was a stress-related injury from his gaming habits, and took a few days off before recognizing it wasn't going away.
