Veloren is an open-source multiplayer RPG created by volunteers, has released a major new version. Veloren is a multiplayer voxel RPG written in Rust. It is inspired by games such as Cube World, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Dwarf Fortress and Minecraft.
Veloren is at a point where there's a lot more to explore and experience as the game evolves into a complete experience. This release is very important as it continues to lay the foundation for the future content. It's well worth a look.
Here are some highlights from 0.9.0:
Chat commands are added for inviting, kicking and leaving groups - Map indicators to group members – Flying birds travel the globe Skill trees first support for keyboards with alternate keysSnow particles Basic NPC interactions. Support for modular weapons. - Saturation buff (healing from food) now queues. Coral reefs, seagrass and kelp forests Item stacking, splitting Initial support for keyboards with alternate styles Snow particles - Basic NPC interaction - Support for modular weapons. Merchants are able to trade with players.
And a lot more, that's just me cherry-picking some of the things that stood out. There are many smaller improvements, plenty of bugs fixed, performance improvements and world generation updates, and a lot more. This is one of the most thrilling open-source games. It is predicted to be extremely popular at the end of 2021.
