Common user errors

If your in-game world doesn't match the map here at all, it's likely due to one of the following:



- you entered the wrong seed or coordinates You selected the incorrect version or edition (the one used to generate the region you look at) or you applied mods or resource packs that affect world generation - (for slime chunks) you didn't wait long enough, as slime chunks have a very low spawn rate even in slime chunks





Mixed version worlds

If you started your world with an older version it's necessary to switch between the versions of the app. Always select the version that generated the chunks that you are interested in.





Coastlines

Versions 1.18 and up don't have perfect coastlines. This isn't a problem but rather because the map shows the underlying biomes instead of the exact terrain. Near the coasts, river and ocean biomes often have land. Land biomes can be, however, underwater.





The limitations that are known

A lot of features aren't 100% accurate. For example, some locations may be incorrect or even missing. These include:



-- Dungeons - End Cities on Bedrock Edition World Spawn Positions - Amethyst Geodes (near caves, mine shafts, etc.)



Other structures, like villages or igloos can sometimes fail to produce. Igralni However this is likely to happen less often than the features that were mentioned earlier.





Requirements


Seed

Technical reasons require that you know the seed of your current world to use Seed Map. Unless you're seeking a seed to create a new world, then you will require this information. The app will retrieve the seed from your savegame if you are playing SSP. Alternately, you can make use of the /seed command while playing. If you have enough rights, you can also make use of the same command in SMP. In other cases, you're dependent on the server owner, who created the world and has access to the savegame and configuration files.





Browser

This application uses fairly new web technologies that are relatively new. As a result, some features might not work with older browsers. I recommend using the most current version of a popular browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari.





Usage


Seed Selection

First, choose the appropriate seed and version. You can either type it in manually, or you can load it from your savegame. This can be done by clicking on "Load From Save ..."" and selecting your level.dat. You can drag&drop the level.dat file directly into your browser. Level.dat is small file that is found in the folder of each Minecraft savegame. You can locate the savegames in the saves folder of your Minecraft installation. On Windows you can use %appdata%.minecraftsaves to get to that folder.



You should also be aware that seeds are always a number (up to around 20 digits). If you input something else (like letters), it will be converted into numbers. The app does this in the same way that Minecraft does, which means it's safe to use letters (and other characters) as well.





Dimension and Size and

Below the seed and version, you can also choose the Minecraft dimension you wish to explore (Overworld, Nether or End). This, and the version you use will determine the features that can be enabled. To switch features, click on the icons in the feature box just above the map.



You can also expand and the features box by pressing the arrow on the right side of the box to show the full names of the features as well as some more options.



Certain features may not be visible when you zoom in sufficiently. This is to make the app running quickly and to not flood it with icons. The app will display a warning and all features affected will be highlighted once it occurs.





Navigation

After you've completed all the options, you're able to begin using the map. Scroll by using your arrow keys to move the cursor towards the map. Or, you can move your mouse around while you hold down the left mouse button. Zooming can be done by using the slider beneath the map, or by using your mousewheel. The lower inputs allow you to navigate to a particular location (e.g. your base) of the map and then set the marker there. Double-clicking on the map will let you remove or add the marker. The "Save Map" button allows you to save the shown map as png image file.





The selection of structure locations

To see the exact coordinates of icons on the map, you can tap or click them. For certain structures, additional information is shown as well.





Touchscreen

There is an additional option to enable/disable touchscreen control below the map, if you're using a touchscreen-enabled phone. You can drag the map with your finger to navigate. You can pinch the map to zoom in or out. Press and hold to put a marker on the map. Double-tap on the map to turn on or off this functionality.
