It is unlikely that someone will ever give away their Runescape Classic account away, even the most generous of people. They are quite scarce in the present. Extrememining The Runescape classic is currently only accessible to members on a trial basis or to accounts created during the classic time period. There is a caveat. During the year of 2009, members were given the opportunity to become classic-enabled and be able to access the classic version for the duration of time. (At least , it appears to be so long as you have membership.)
This information is taken from Runescape's site: "Only two types of account can play RuneScape Classic: those who played RuneScape Classic at least once from August 3rd to February 3rd of 2006 and those who participated in the two-week open period between 11th November 2009 and 25th November 2009. You must have been a member to have played RuneScape Classic during this period. "
Players who are enabled for classic aren't affected by this feature. Players have access to the Classic Server if they have a membership. If your membership runs out and you don't have a chance to access Runescape Classic until you renew your membership.
The following quote comes from Runescape's news in May 2010: "If your membership lapses, you will not be able to log into Classic again until you are again a member. Your account will remain "classic enabled" regardless of whether your membership expires. This means that you will not lose access to Classic forever in the event that you let your membership expire. It will be restored when you become a new member.
