Teenager who was Crowned Dragons' Den Investment Arrested for Suspicion of Burglary

A teen entrepreneur who won an investment of a staggering PS80,000 in Dragon's Den was arrested for the alleged robbery of his mother's house.



Jordan Daykin, 19 years old was the youngest to establish a business with the Dragons after Deborah Meaden offered the money in exchange for an interest of 25% in his company.



Two months later, he was nabbed by his mother following an incident where he attacked her home and snatched numerous valuables including Swarovski crystals and four televisions. He also stole jewellery worth PS4,000.



Claims: Jordan Daykin (pictured right on Dragons' Den earlier in the year) is believed to have stole money from the Westbury, Kent home of his mother Maria Daykin. He was later detained and released on bail.



Jordan's spokesperson stated that he was permitted into the home because his mother had recently experienced an "unexpected upheaval in her home'. Above, one of the rooms which Ms Daykin claimed was burgled



A spokesperson for Jordan claimed that he had permission from his mother to enter the house and was helping his brother leave the house after a fight. He added that the belongings they took were theirs.



Maria Daykin, mother-of-two, 45, stated that she was 'disgusted by her son's actions. These are believed to be an element of a family feud.



She explained: 'I had to call the police as it was an invasion of my privacy. When I returned home, I found that my house was totally destroyed and every piece of furniture, the TVs off the wall and everything.

"He was nominated to all these awards. Extrememining I'm sure the only motive was to see my home burned to the ground.



She claims to have lost the furniture in her two bedrooms, 100 DVDs, and perfume worth almost PS300.



'Family fight': Jordan's spokesperson claimed that Jordan was helping his brother leave Westbury, Wiltshire after a row. He claims that they stole some of their belongings.

"Violation": Ms Daykin stated that she returned home to discover that her home, as shown as a ransacked property. She claims that valuables such as four televisions, two beds and jewelry worth more than PS4,000 had been taken.



Ms Daykin, from Westbury, Wiltshire, said the incident occurred on the 9th of October. She said her son was swiftly detained later that night by Wiltshire Police.



She claims Jordan and three other people planned the raid for her when she was not there.



He was arrested and kept overnight before being released on bail after lengthy questioning.

The teenager's spokesman said Jordan was simply helping his brother leave the house after a row.



He stated that some belongings of his brother were taken away, as well as some of Jordan’s.



He said that his mother had granted her permission and added: 'She's experienced a sudden change at home. Jordan is sensitive to her emotional state.'



Last week Jordan was shortlisted for Young Entrepreneur of the Year at the GB Entrepreneur Awards.



In August, he received PS80,000 from Dragon Deborah Meaden following the fact that she took an interest in his business Grip It Fixings, which provides a universal fixing specifically designed to be used with all kinds of plasterboard.



The investment will assist Jordan with the costs of new machinery, stock increase and an investment for their warehouse in Melksham, Somerset.



Jordan quit school at the age of 13 and his first venture was an online site named RS2Services that was motivated by his love for RuneScape, an online fantasy role-playing game.



The site offered players the best RuneScape products at a lower cost.



He later founded a nationwide tutoring agency Tutor Magnet, which currently has a database that includes more than 400 tutors, and has an average of PS2,000 per month.



Grip It Fixings was developed by Jordan in 2008, as he was building curtain rails for his grandfather Stan, who was 74 years old.



A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: 'We can confirm that a man of 19 was taken into custody on the 9th of October at around 7pm, on suspicion of burglary. He was taken to Melksham Police Station.



"He has been released without further inquiries."
