Trump's relationship with Kazakhstan was not limited to Tevfik. Trump was widely criticized for his view that Kazakhstan was an ally despite its questionable regime.

Eurasian geopolitics has historically been focused around Central Asia. Kazakhstan leads Eurasia with respect to security, economics and energy. America should have strong connections to the region and Kazakhstan particularly.

One of the reasons for hosting Nazarbayev was to show his commitment to nuclear nonproliferation. Kazakhstan is a leader in nonproliferation, having given up its nuclear weapons inherited by the Soviets. After the Cold War, US interest in Central Asia was restricted to Afghanistan.

Trump's South Asia strategy also needed Pakistan's break. The US consequently needed Kazakhstan to provide an alternative shipping route to Afghanistan.

He was appointed deputy head of the Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade’s Hotel Management Department. After 17 years at the Ministry, Tevfik Arif founded real estate, property development, imports, exports, natural resources, minerals automobiles, as well as food enterprises.
