Who are you?

I'm InvisibleUp, but you can just call me Viz. I'm your neighborhood ghost internet. OOOoooOOoo~...

I don't like the creepy stuff. I'd like to be a nice, caring person. Above all, I want to make people the best they can. I do not believe in being edgy or in being apathetic or insulting. If you're having bad days I hope you'll just chill here and read about Sonic or AOL or whatever. A friend of mine once called me "a breath of fresh air" I'll accept that as an invitation to let the spring breeze in your sails.

IRL, it's no surprise that I'm very much alive, and not bald. I am actually a young woman with a curly reddish-reddish tresses. I'm currently studying electrical engineering at college. I'm focusing on embedded device development. I've worked on interesting things like space satellites and overhauling an entire department's report generation system, in addition to other things.

I'm a fan of retro technology (everything's so much more interesting when you have constraints) and indie games, biking through nature trails and public transportation, as well as Sonic the Hedgehog. But I'm always up for trying new things. Who knows? Maybe I'll discover a brand new favorite thing. That's always a blast.

What is this site?

It's mostly a place to dump random thoughts. It's broken down into a few broad categories.

The Articles section, the earliest one with semi-regular content is where I attempt to explain and/or gush about things that interest me or about things I'm working on. It doesn't get updated super often though, because creating content is hard.

The Hacking notes contain some suggestions and tools for modders of old video games. Addictgaming There are also the Projects which contains some more substantial stuff that I've been working on and that stand on its own. Finally, there is the Doodles which is where I try to express myself creatively.

Any favorite games/webcomics/whatever?

I'm pretty interested in video games? Although I occasionally play them, I wouldn't call myself a gamer. I think the entire medium is interesting, what people can do with it as well as the emotions and experiences they can convey and how they can use the tools they have to their advantage. Some games I'm kinda into either right now or in the past are Night in the Woods, deltarune, Tetris Attack, a number of the Sonic series, and Minecraft.

My absolute top films include Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Forrest Gump and Kiki's Delivery Service. I prefer plots with strong characters interaction to flashy grand plots.

My musical tastes are... unusual. My music tastes were shaped by SoundCloud YouTube, SoundCloud, and old videogames. In the end my favorite songs are either earworms with an excellent bassline (I'm obsessed with 80's J-Pop and 00's Alternative) or nice instrumental pieces that truly make you feel the music, not just listen to it. (stuff like Fleetwood Mac, Styx, Blue Album-era Beatles and Pink Floyd.)

What's with the username?

Surprisingly brief story, actually. I was watching a Mario gaming marathon in aid of charity (led by MonotoneTim who is a cool guy) and needed an account name to join the chat. I thought "You know what's cool? Those Boo mushrooms from Super Mario Galaxy that turn you into an invisible." After a good 15 seconds of thinking I finally typed "InvisibleUp" in my head and continued. (In retrospect, I should have picked something that had fewer words.)

And the ghostsona?

I started out for years with a logo that looked vaguely like a ghost from Pac-Man. I really wanted a unique profile pic, so I made one. That being said, a few years later I decided that it kinda sucked. I felt a need to have an actual kind of human face to represent my posts instead of just some weird abstract logo thing. I wanted to have a more personal presence on the 'net than I had let myself have before. So, I came up with Inviz.

You could say that she was inspired by Napstablook in Undertale and Vivian TTYD from Paper Mario. I could have just drawn myself as an individual, but I wanted to try my hand at creating a character instead. And I'm trying to keep up with the ghost theme, right? Also I'm kinda too squirrelly about privacy to use my real face.
