International Creators Included Bars And Melody

Tubecon is an international community-driven YouTube event that brings together YouTube creators and viewers in large-scale public events. Tubecon was first held in August 2014 at Hartwall Arena in Helsinki. It attracted more than 5,000 attendees. [1] Since then Tubecon has been organized 25 times across four different countries so far (Finland, Sweden, Spain and Switzerland) with a total of 120,000 people attending all events. [2]



In recent years, Tubecon has grown dramatically as the YouTube and online influencer scene has also grown. The biggest event of Tubecon attracted over 18,000 people and included more than 200 YouTubers and online influencers.



Tubecon event program is developed in collaboration with local online influencers and it comprises a variety of elements such as Meet & Greets, Tubecon Video Awards panels and concerts. Tubecon 2018 will be held in Finland, Sweden and Germany and letters of intent were signed in Romania, Latvia, and Austria. [3]

2014[edit]



The story of Tubecon began in 2014 when Finnish creators wanted to organize an event that they and their viewers could get to know each other in a safe and enjoyable way. [4]

2015[edit]



Tubecon 2015 took place at Hartwall Arena in August 2015[5With over 10,000 attendees.



2016[edit]



The Finnish Tubecon was held between 12-13 August 2016. The second day was sold out. The event attracted 18,500 people. [6]



Sweden[edit]



Tubecon in Sweden began on January 6, 2016 in Stockholm with more than 4500 people attending. They also did an autumn tour which began on September 9 in Vasteras and ended on the 10th of December in Kungsbacka. Around 50 YouTube creators visited 8 cities in total. [7] In 2016 more than 15,000 people attended Tubecon Sweden events.



Germany[edit]



The Tubecon was held in Germany at the Turbinenhalle Oberhausen on February 20, 2016. Tickets for VIP and Aftershow tickets were also available.



2017[edit]



Finnish event was held in Hartwall Arena on 12-13 August with around 17,500 visitors. [8]



Spain[edit]



The first ever Tubecon Spain event was held in Madrid's wiZink Centre on the 18th of February. The event attracted over 4,000 people and more than 200 Spanish creators. [9]



Switzerland[edit]



Tubecon Switzerland was first organized in Zurich's Hallenstation, 29 December. About 2,500 people took part to the event. [11]



2018[edit]



Finland[edit]



The Finnish Tubecon took place for the first time in Messukeskus Helsinki between 17 and 18 August. The theme for the event was "My Story". Around 200 Finnish YouTubers participated in the event. Tubecon hosted also international creators from the US, Great Britain, Germany and Thailand in the first Tubecon World Meet. International creators were Bars and Melody, Jon Cozart who is also known as Paint, Softpomz and MrTrashPack. The event also introduced a new TubeCity concept, where various genres , like beauty, gaming and fashion and food, included their own blocks within the city-like event space. As a new initiative, Tubecon also introduced Tube Academy, an educational track that is open to creators and anyone who wanted to understand more about video production and the industry. [12]
