Unless specifically stated the code is sourced from the MCC Team or Contributors, and is licensed under CDDL-1.0. In the source file headers, the original author and the license are also listed. The principal conditions of the CDDL-1.0 license are essentially the following:
- You may use the licensed code in whole or in part in any program you desire, regardless of the license of the program as a whole (or more specifically, as it is not it is not excluding the code you are borrowing). The program itself can be open or closed source, commercial or free. However, in all instances, any modifications or improvements to the CDDL code (any code that is directly referenced in modifications to the CDDL code is considered to be an addition to the CDDL code, and so is bound by this requirement. e.g. Modifying a math function to use fast lookup tables is an addition to the CDDL codes. This is true regardless of whether the source code file is its own. In any program (source or binary) that makes use of CDDL code, recognition must be given to the source (either the author or project) of the CDDL code. Modifications to the CDDL code, which are required to be distributed as source code, cannot be able to remove notices that indicate the ancestry.
