The mobile version of Minecraft - also known as Minecraft: Pocket Edition - is being designed to allow for massive changes literally. The developer Mojang has announced on its website that it is "restructuring many of the codes to allow for significantly larger worlds in future upgrades," and also tweaked creature AI as well as the inventory system and other details.

Mojang has stated that Pocket Edition updates will not be released until the end of the year. The sentence is believed to be written while stroking a fluffy cat or aboard the Death Star.
Mojang is also "pausing" access to the Pocket Realms beta, which allows for persistent worlds to be stored on private servers. "The Realms team is currently focused on the upcoming release of PC Realms," Mojang wrote. "Once that's done we'll be better positioned to work on Pocket Realms and make it as good as it possibly could be, which is expected to be later this year." The pause will take effect on March 1.
