Minecraft will not be able to complete a bridge to PS4, Vita and Xbox One until August, but an PlayStation Blog update lends a few more details about what we can expect from the port to Sony's most recent home console.
We were previously told that the world's sizes would be "a lot bigger" on consoles that are more modern. However this update gives more information that the PS4 will have 36 times as much space for construction sites on the flagship than the PS3. The DualShock 4's touchpad can be considered a new tool in your arsenal, since 4J Studios has added optional support for crafting and menu navigation.
The PS4 version will allow up to eight players to play online. A single PS4 can accommodate up to four players on splitscreen. "A collection of DLC that is exclusive to Sony" will follow Minecraft's PS4 debut.
Saves can be transferred between the PS3 or Xbox 360 to allow you to keep developing your architectural skills without having to begin from scratch. When the PS4 and Xbox One builds arrive in August it will be possible to upgrade from digital versions for $4.99. PlayStation 3 owners can upgrade to the Vita version by staying to the PS3.
Mojang would like to offer discounts to the spinning disc-based Minecraft versions. However, the post states that it's "proving a bit more difficult to set up." STEVELARESE.COM We'll need to wait and find out if that's possible.
