I was required to update Java this morning and I was in a hurry. I was just browsing the first page of this wizard and did not pay much attention to. Then I remembered that it said it would install the Ask.com application. Grrr.

I could have canceled it, but I pushed on. There was no indication of the extension after the installation. Chrome reported that the extension "Search App By Ask Version 2" was added after I restarted Chrome.
I did not enable it of course, and checked my search engine settings. The site ask.com was there however it was not set as the default search engine. That was it!
SERVER
I hate that Oracle added an browser toolbar into the installation of the Java runtime. I'm curious how many kids who have installed Java to play Minecraft have this toolbar installed now?
