It's not easy for us commoners to fathom how much money a billion dollars. If you're looking to see more than just an amount to understand the amount of money Notch has earned from selling Minecraft to Microsoft for $2.5 billion (yes billion with a B) Just take an e-mail from his Beverly Hills mansion. This is the home Minecraft purchased, you know say, a $70 million home with its own cinema with iPad-controlled fountains as well as automated glass doors with a panoramic view of LA and, most importantly of all, a candy room that is exactly what it is. This includes all the costly furniture and TVs that measure 90 inches. There are also cases of Dom Perignon champagne.
Markus Persson (Notch's real name) has reportedly paid cash for the 8-bedroom, 15-bath property, just six days after he had closed the deal. According to Bloomberg, Notch outmaneuvered and beat interested celebrities, such as Jay Z and Beyonce, who visited the home several times over the past few months. SRVLST Then again, Jay and Bey are reported to be worth just $1 billion each, while Notch's net worth is between $1.5 to $2 billion. We'd look at other pictures of the property on its website, but we're too busy thinking of a billion-dollar idea to sell Apple/Microsoft/Facebook in the future.
