The Minecraft Forum is a community-driven forum for Minecraft. therobinsonsmusic.net It was founded on June 16 2009 by a community member citricsquid. It continues to be operated by the community and with Mojang Studios having no involvement in the day-to-day operations (although certain Mojang Studios employees have accounts on the site).
In September 2010, Redstone Wire Ltd. was established to run the site. On November 15, 2010, the site was purchased by Curse. Curse was the owner and operator of the site until it was purchased by MagicFind in June 2019. The forum software used was named Cobalt and was developed in-house by Curse.
The forum is an information central hub for the Minecraft community, with game modifications, custom maps servers, resource packs and servers all shared. Registration on the site is free and anyone with or without an Minecraft account is able to use the site. Forum administration is managed by PuyoDead and citricsquid. The moderating team is comprised of more than 100 volunteers.
The front page of the site contains news, videos, interviews, contests, and articles related to Minecraft, Mojang Studios and the Minecraft community in general. Sacheverell is the main news source with videos from the MCSpotlights YouTube Channel as well as the Curse YouTube Channel.
On May 20 the 20th of May, 2019, citricsquid made an announcement that the forums will become read-only on June 16, 2019. 5 On May 20, 2019, citricsquid announced that the forums would become read-only on June 16, 2019. [6]
