The best way to study Japanese on your own
Japanese learners often ask themselves: is it really possible to learn Japanese on their own? Don't worry, you're not alone. I thought it was absurd to believe that any man or woman could learn one of the world's hardest languages without the help of a teacher.

Having graduated from college, I challenged myself with this tough goal, and I was able to achieve it (in some measure). A year after studying full-time, I passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level N2 only to realize that it wasn't as big an accomplishment as I thought. Later, I'll tell you more about that, but first let me share how I learned Japanese and passed the JLPT N2 with a score of 97/180 (90 is the passing score).

The hard part is to learn 2000 Kanji characters besides remembering hiragana and katakana. Due to headaches, I decided to skip learning the Kanji for a while in the first month of my journal. What makes Japanese people use hiragana only instead of Korean hangul as their writing system? There would be a lot less trouble for everyone if we did that. In the beginning, I hated the Kanji, yet I became totally smitten with it.

It's probably familiar to you that Heisig wrote a book entitled Remembering the Kanji. For all Japanese learners who want to learn Kanji quickly and easily, this book is a must-have. By creating a story or image for each Kanji, it helps you remember the characters. Although this book is not guaranteed to work for everyone, it certainly stands out among hundreds of Chinese characters books on the market.

This book lacks the character's on and kun readings, which is a slight drawback. We can easily learn to read the characters somewhere else, so the author wants to show us how to remember them the best. You shouldn't have too much trouble googling the on and kun reading of each character if you're a serious learner.

If you practice writing sentences and short essays, you will easily remember how to write Kanji. Repetition is key to remembering a word so that it appears in a variety of sentences. In addition, type your sentences onto your computer and have someone proofread them for you.

They offer thousands of audio, video, and pdf lessons. A site like this probably offers more Japanese lessons than any other. There are four main categories for the lessons: Absolute Beginner, Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. There are several seasons in each category, and each season contains more than 20 lessons. If Blog For Pet Lover want to learn offline, you can download the pdf and mp3 files from the website.
