Like Minecraft Dungeons, Legends is creating new mobs that are compatible with Minecraft.
Magnus Nedfors, Minecraft Legends creator director, and Dennis Ries, executive producer were on the Xbox booth livestream this week at Gamescom to discuss some details about Legends. They also gave details on the upcoming mobs that are both friend and foe. Mojang Interactive and Blackbird Interactive are launching a new RTS spinoff that will make its mark in the Minecraft world, as with previous genre experiments. Dungeons has stepped outside the bounds of existing Minecraft legends to create mobs needed to fit its action RPG world and Legends is following suit.
As we saw in its first trailer that the main villains of Minecraft Legends are the familiar Nether denizens and the Piglins. Legends will add a "Pigmadillo" to the mix. This is an animal that is seated in a cube and contrary to what you think based on the geometry of a cube's physics is able to roll offensively towards the thing it is attempting to attack. Ries also points out that there are "Bruisers" that have two razor blades. Bit horror-esque, innit? The two new mobs make an appearance in the new cinematic trailer that Mojang showed off.

On the other side, you will find two types of golem joining your troops There is the Cobblestone Golem who is great at taking down enemies' structures and the Plank Golem which Ries calls a ranged unit. They also refer to speed wheat, which is the special kind of mushroom for jumping extra high, which you can use to get across the world and unlock new areas in Legends.
Minecraft Dungeons also introduced new mobs like the Iceologers or Mountaineers. The Iceologers wound up being included in the Minecraft Live 2020 fan vote for which mob to add to Vanilla Minecraft. They lost to Glow Squid but I would like to see one of these Legends baddies get the same chance at Vanilla Mine fame.
If you didn't catch it, there's a badger at the beginning of the trailer, too. Project Badger was the codename of Minecraft Legends before it was made public. It could just be a nod to. It could even be granted status as a mob official.
